About the test
Gut Microbiome Small is a gut flora test that analyzes 13 different types of bacteria in the gut and 4 common yeasts. It is well known that an overgrowth of pathogen bacteria can create gut issues, but so can a lack of good bacteria. Many studies show the connection between imbalances in our gut flora and a number of serious diseases such as autism, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and more.
Microbes and bacteria inhabit not only our gut, but many other places in the body. For example, Lactobacillus predominates in the woman’s lower abdomen and in our small intestine, while Bifidobacteria and Bacteriodes is common in our large intestine . By measuring our gut flora, we can see any weaknesses and correct them before more difficult problems arise.
Who should test their gut flora?
This smaller gut test test is suitable for people with milder gut problems, or if you are interested to test your gut flora in order to be able to optimize your health and wellbeing. It is also suitable for you who have suffered from other diseases that can be linked to the gut flora, such as depression, autism, Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s. For people who have more severe gut issues or want to do a more comprehensive test, we can recommend one of our larger gut tests that also measures leaky gut, maldigestion and much more.
Gut Microbiome Small analyzes 13 different bacteria:
- Escherichia coli
- Escherichia coli Biovare
Gut Microbiome Small analyzes these 4 yeasts:
- Candida albicans
- Yests (positive or. negative)
- Geotrichum candidum
The test also analyzes:
- pH value
How it works
All our health tests including our stool tests are done from home. Everything you need to perform the test is in the test kit. The test is then sent to our ISO certified lab for analysis.
