Peptoclostridium species

Peptoclostridium species refers to a group of bacteria that can live in the intestinal tract. These bacteria are involved in the breakdown of proteins and other nutrients by gut microbes. This process is called fermentation and can be normal, but if the balance shifts, it may contribute to gas, stronger stool odour, stool changes, or irritation in the gut.
