Allergy test from home
GetTested’s Allergy Test measures 38 different components that cover 95% of the most common allergies in Europe. An allergic reaction does not always have to trigger severe symptoms but can cause milder or diffuse symptoms such as a runny nose, rash or itchy skin. Like all our tests, this test is also performed from home via a simple blood test in the finger. You will then send the sample to our certified and professional lab and then you will receive your answer digitally.
Allergy, Food Intolerance or Histamine Intolerance?
In some cases, different reactions are not about an allergy but are due to a food intolerance or histamine intolerance. Allergy is an immunological reaction, while food intolerance is a gastrointestinal reaction (which can cause more symptoms than just in the stomach / intestine) and when you analyze these two types you look at different markers. Histamine intolerance means a deficiency of the enzyme diamine oxidase (DAO) which breaks down histamine in food and these reactions can cause allergy-like symptoms. If you are considering whether you have a reduction in this particular enzyme, you can read about histamine here. If you think that your symptoms are rather linked to possible food intolerances instead, you can read more about our combined Allergy & Food Intolerance Test here.
