Sorbit Intolerance Test
Sorbitol is used as a sweetener in many products, including food and beverages. This sugar is naturally found in pears, prunes, cherries, and plums.
Fluctuating levels of sorbitol may cause complications in the osmotic pressure gradient of the digestive tract, hence the need to keep it in check.
High concentrations of sorbitol may lead to osmotic diarrhea, while low concentrations cause gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with irritable bowel syndrome.
The Hydrogen and Methane breath test is performed to test for sorbitol intolerance. This is a non-invasive test that is performed in the laboratory.
Testing kit will be sent to desired address, after purchase of this test, including instructions and pre-paid envelope for direct delivery to our ISO certified Testing Facility (lab) located in Germany. If any questions pre or post your order, we are happy to answer any questions during opening hours.
