IBS test – deep stomach / bowel test

The IBS test is an in-depth test that gives you a thorough analysis of your digestive system and intestinal flora. We measure digestive functions, residual products in the digestive tract, bacteria and yeasts in the intestinal flora, digestive malabsorption and inflammatory markers. Common imbalances in IBS are, for example, overgrowth of candida, pathogenic bacteria, lack of a healthy bacterial flora, leaky gut or digestive weakness. Imbalance in the intestinal flora is very common in IBS and impairs the protective function of the intestinal mucosa and our immune system. It is often said that 80% of people with IBS also suffer from SIBO, which stands for Small Bacterial Overgrowth, ie overgrowth of bacteria. However, SIBO is considered a secondary disease that is primarily due to other weaknesses in the digestive system. Therefore, it is recommended to do a thorough analysis of your stomach / gut that can look at the underlying factors, which this test does.

Who should take this test?

The IBS test is suitable for you who have IBS or similar stomach problems and so far have not received the right help. It suits both you who have had the problems for a long time or if they have recently arisen. The sooner you find the root cause of your problems, the faster you can take action to treat the imbalances you have. If you suffer from IBS, we can recommend that you also test yourself for food intolerances. The first step is to remove things that can disturb your stomach and intestines, whether it is food you can not tolerate, overgrowth of bacteria/fungus/yeast, or toxins.

The IBS test analyzes:

  • 13 intestinal flora bacteria
  • 4 yeasts
  • The pH value
  • Residues (fat, nitrogen, sugar and water)
  • Secretarial IgA
  • F-elastase
  • Bile acids
  • Alpha-1 antitrypsin
  • Calprotectin

The test analyzes the following 13 intestinal flora bacteria:

  • Bifidobacterium
  • Lactobacillus
  • Clostridium
  • Klebsiella
  • Escherichia coli
  • Escherichia coli Biovare
  • Proteus
  • Pseudomonas
  • Enterobacter
  • Serratia
  • Hafnia
  • Enterococcus
  • Bacteriodes

These intestinal bacteria are what we, based on current research, know are the most common bacteria in the gut, or what should be the most common bacteria for a healthy intestinal flora. In the right amount, all the bacteria can have a beneficial function, while they can be directly harmful in too low or too high an amount.

The IBS test analyzes the following 4 yeasts:

  • Candida
  • Candida albicans
  • Yeasts (positive or negative)
  • Geotrichum candidum

Candida albicans has become very well known in recent years. Candida is found naturally in our gut and is good for us in moderation, but if there is an overgrowth it happens that problems can occur, which can occur after taking antibiotics, in case of incorrect diet, in case of heavy metal poisoning, after taking certain drugs. Since Candida is a completely separate genus, it can also be the case that you have overgrown another fungus. Therefore, we analyze not only Candida albicans but also candida as a genus and also if there is a general overgrowth of yeast, as well as Geotrichum candidum.
