Gut Microbiome Test Large – a comprehensive gut test
Gut Microbiome Test Large is an in-depth test that measures digestive functions, residual products in digestion, bacteria and yeasts in the intestinal flora, digestive malabsorption and inflammatory markers. With this test, you get a thorough analysis of your digestive system and intestinal flora.
Who would benefit from this test?
Digestive issues is a common problem today and many other health problems originate from gut problems such as imbalanced gut flora, candida overgrowth, difficulty digesting foods and so on. This test gives you a thorough analysis of any potential gut imbalances and can also be used to prevent future problems and optimize your health.
If you are interested in measuring leaky gut, we recommend our largest gut test, Gut Microbiome Test XL, which in addition to this test also measures the presence of zonulin and histamine.
This test includes the following:
- 13 gut bacteria
- 4 yeasts
- The pH value
- Residues (fat, nitrogen, sugar and water)
- Secretory IgA
- Pancreatic elastase
- Bile acids
- Alpha-1 antitrypsin
- Calprotectin
The Gut Microbiome Test L analyzes 13 different gut flora bacteria:
- Bifidobacterium
- Lactobacillus
- Clostridium
- Klebsiella
- Escherichia coli
- Escherichia coli Biovare
- Proteus
- Pseudomonas
- Enterobacter
- Serratia
- Hafnia
- Enterococcus
- Bacteriodes
These bacteria are the most common gut bacteria. In the right amount, all the bacteria can have a beneficial function, while they can be directly harmful in too low or too high an amount.
The test also analyzes the following 4 yeasts:
- Candida
- Candida albicans
- Yeasts (positive or negative)
- Geotrichum candidum
Candida albicans is a yeast (a type of fungus) found naturally in our body and skin. The main purpose of this fungus is to aid in digestion and nutrient absorption if it occurs in moderation, but if there is an overgrowth, it can create health problems. It is often possible to see an overgrowth after taking antibiotics, with a unhealthy diet, with heavy metal poisoning and after taking certain drugs. Yeast overgrowth can however be due to not only candida, but also other types of fungus. Therefore, we analyze not only Candida albicans but also Candida spp., Geotrichum candidum and if there is a general overgrowth of yeast.
