ASB13 is a member of the ASB protein family, defined by ankyrin repeat domains and a SOCS box domain. It plays a key role in regulating protein degradation and signal transduction. Acting as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, ASB13 facilitates the tagging and breakdown of specific protein targets. Its SOCS box domain interacts with components of the ubiquitin–proteasome system, including E2 enzymes and Cullin-RING ligase complexes, to direct targeted protein turnover.
