FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions. If you do not find the answer to your question below, you are welcome to contact us.

How does the testing procedure work?

The tests use samples from either blood, urine, saliva, or breath. After you have placed your order, we will send a test to you with all the necessary equipment and instructions. When you have done the test, you send it to our lab for analysis, using the pre-stamped return envelope included in the test kit. You can read more about the testing procedure for all our tests here.

How much blood, urine, or saliva is needed for one test?

The blood tests only require 0,3 ml (300 microlitres). You fill the test tube with a few drops of blood until it reaches the marked line in the tube.

When should the test be taken?

Most of the tests do not need to be taken at a particular hour or day. There are a few exceptions though; one of them is the cortisol test which requires you to take samples several times during a whole day. You can read more about the cortisol test here.

Do I need to prepare something before the test?

Optimally, you would do the test on a Monday. If you are doing an allergy test or food intolerance test, you must have been exposed to the tested substances within the last three months. Otherwise, test will not give any indication of allergy or intolerance for those particular substances.

Does taking medication affect the test results?

No, it does not.

Why should I send my test to the lab on a Monday?

Your test needs to arrive at the lab within 5 days for an optimal analysis. If, for some reason, the arrival of the test would be delayed, the lab personnel will see it and a new test must be sent in. We will contact you if that is the case.

Where is the lab located?

We collaborate with an accredited and certified lab in Germany. They have years of experience, are trusted by the medical community, and their services are used by doctors all over Europe. Our collaboration lab is certified in accordance with EN ISO 13485 and ISO 9001.

When and how will I receive the test result?

You will receive an e-mail when the analysis is complete, which takes no more than 15 days. All you have to do at that point, is to login on https://my.gettested.io/ where you will find a download link with the complete test results.
